*Meet the Instructors* Mela and Drew have a combined 30 years experience dancing NY-style salsa on2. They’ve traveled domestically and internationally performing and teaching salsa, and were principal dancers with Huracán Dance Company from 2016-2023 🌪️. They have performed with a variety of Latin recording artists at live venues like Barclays Center and Lehman Performing Arts Center, as well as in music videos. Carmela is a 3x World Salsa Champion who is known for her infectious energy and skilled communication as an instructor and coach who loves to break down the fundamentals. She has a PhD in sociology from CUNY, where she focused her research on the history and social context of NY’s salsa dance scene. Andrew is one of NY’s favorite social dancers, known for his flavorful patterns and his smooth, skillful Lead.
