Addie Diaz, a Puerto Rican/Native New Yorker, obtained her pro Latin dance training at age 25, under the tutelage of Evelyn Leon.  Addie has a background in Latin-Caribbean dances such as Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Cha-Cha and Cuban Rumba and Reggaeton. She has had the opportunity to travel throughout the U.S. and abroad to perform at live concerts and teach dance workshops at dance conventions and large events. Countries include: Colombia, France, Hawaii, Italy, Switzerland, Japan, to name a few. As well as on movie sets as a dancer and choreographer.
 


Addie is a Worldwide pioneer of New York Salsa On2 style of dancing, teaching partner work leading and following technique. ArtsWestchester welcomed Addie as a resident artist in the Fall of 2008. Where she has been teaching dance residencies in Public Schools and Community sites throughout Westchester County ever since. ArtsWestchester also awarded Addie with an Arts Alive grant that encouraged her to produce and direct a musical theater project called: “Plantando Banderas” (Planting Flags). Which honored successful hispanic Westchester County residents, using narrative biographies, personalized poetry, and storytelling through dance.
 


As a dance studio owner since 2013, Addie’s kids and adult’s dance programs instantly became her Love-Child. “Addie-tude Cultural Arts Center” is located right in town, at the village of Pleasantville. Where she teaches weekly Latin Cultural dance. With a staff of talented instructors providing a variety of other dance forms. Addie also offers Adults classes at the Dance Conservatory in Cortandt Manor, NY. And Kids Latin dance in Peekskill, NY. Both on a weekly basis.


Certified as a World Salsa Summit dance competition judge, Addie joins fellow accomplished dancers/choreographers at the judge’s table. This annual event features world-wide competing solo and team dance artists, who place winning championship awards.
