SALSAFORUMS
Addie Diaz Ladies Styling Video

This tape is a good resource for the beginner who has a good feel for
ET2 style Salsa. There are no frills, flashy costumes or wild lights.
Just Addie teaching and demonstrating the moves with Tito Puente’s
"Mambo Sentimental" as the music. Big Plus. :D

It's divided up into two routine combinations of solo shines with
ladies styling. First one I felt was fairly easy since we've covered
some of it in my classes but the second routine becames a little more
challenging as it requires a little more arm/body/rhythm coordination.
Although not much time is spent actually explaing the styling for arms,
hands, body rolls, etc., it is clear enough just by watching,
practicing and rewinding the video a couple of times. ;)

What I really like is that I actually look like a "girl" when I
practice the movements demonstrated on the video. Addie makes it look
easy as she keeps it "quiet" and hints to other stuff that you could do
if you watch closely. Sometimes, as a beginner, you can get lost in all
the crazy movement on some of these "beginner" videos but the styling
on this one is not to "out there".

The video is about 50 minutes and about 8-10 moves with styling. Good
video I think. This one was done in 1999 with a series to follow. I
don't think the series was ever done or finished which sucks because I
like Addie's style of instruction. :(

The only other thing I wished could have been added is a reverse video
view. Kind of hard to get it if you're facing the instructor. Other
than that, it's a great video for the beginner, I think. :)
