Diaz Works as Movie Technical Advisor, Understudy Singer for Latin Madness
Item from SalsaNewYork

New
York Mambo Instructor Addie
Diaz recently was hired to work as a mambo Technical Advisor for the
feature film "Saving Face" which was shot out at JFK Airport in
Mid-October. She also has been offered similar work on the Glen Close movie
"The Heights" which is currently shooting in the NY area. Addie
made recent strides in her singing
career when she was hired as the understudy singer for Latin
Madness IV. She actually had the opportunity to sing the last four shows
of the run (10/31/03 - 11/2/03). The dual singing
and dancing responsibilities required Addie
to sing with the band in the Orchestra pit in her Zoot Suit dance costume.
She had roughly 10 seconds to make her way from the pit to the stage in time
to perform in the Shinning Knight number (which she also choreographed).
Dancer
& Singer Addie Diaz Creates First Ever "On 2" Music Video

Long
time "On 2" performer,
instructor
& choreographer Addie
Diaz is known to many of us in the international mambo community, having
performed around the world including in such venues as Madison Square Garden,
many salsa congresses & the Off-Broadway dance musical "Latin
Madness" . She was the creator of the first "On 2" Ladies
Styling Instructional Video teaching our unique New York style of mambo.
Now Addie has added singing to her repertoire as a salsa entertainer,
fulfilling a long-time dream of combining singing, dancing & choreography
all in one professional package. I (Steve
Shaw) recently had the pleasure of seeing Addie's new demo music video and
it was really impressive. She is singing a salsa song beautifully,
surrounded by performers dancing "On 2" to the music, in a pure New
York City setting. The video photography & action editing are
totally professional & exciting to watch, having been done by movie &
TV veteran Manny Siverio, co-host
of www.SalsaNewYork.com .
This is the first ever singing & dancing "On 2" music video
& Addie once again deserves our congratulations for being a pioneer &
moving our NY style mambo out into the larger Latin entertainment spotlight.

SalsaNewYork Calendar page July 2002
"The Addie-tude Dance Company will be
performing at the next Con Sazon's Mambo Dance Party & Celebrity
Showcase this coming Friday July 26, 2002 from 9:00 PM - 4:00 AM -
Bronx.
"A special evening of dancing and
performance, with the added attraction of showcasing
the talents and stories of one of mambo's best and most well-known dance companies.
Each evening of this monthly event will include non-stop classic salsa
played by one of our excellent local mambo DJ's, and will also feature one
particular dance group which has achieved a prominent position in the NY/NJ
mambo community. The presentation will include performances of several
numbers by that night's special guest group along with interviews, guest
speakers and history.....and then back to hours of super dancing.
Unlike many mambo evenings which have performances by several groups, this
Celebrity Showcase gives us the opportunity to see and learn more about one
specific group each month........." -by Steve Shaw of

Addie Diaz
DC!!! get ready...out of New York
City's comes an interesting Latina Salsa Dancer; she'll be in town from
September 19, 20, 21th to perform at the Hispanic Heritage Awards Ceremony. This
ceremony will be aired on NBC; and will be held here in DC.
I'll be hanging out with Addie to
take her around to the various venues. I'll also be making videos for this
fall's impressions and subjects. Ladies this is a good chance
to see a top female dancing expert. This is an important issue especially
for women. Most of the time women learn how to dance with male
instructors and when they come out dancing they tend to emulate men...Addie
projects a total female dancing perspective.
Dance with Wepa!
It won't hurt!
As a dancer, Addie gets hired to
travel and perform on stage with Salsa Stars such as José Alberto el Canario
and so on. Addie is a member of the Dascarga Latina dancing
squad. This group has a lot of talent and Addie is a proud member.
For sure I'll be taking Ms. Diaz to Winners and Heaven on Earth for photos and
dancing presentations. I'm telling you...New Yorkers love DC.
DC is going to Shaking Next Week.
So make your plans now...honestly
and with all my affection; Sam Rodriguez.
It's time to rest....
