Introduction
This past September 25, 1999, The Addie-tude Dance Company made its debut in New York City at Bernard_Martinez's Monthly Social Dance at the Ballroom on Fifth Dance Studio. The company is Directed by NY Mambo Dancer, Instructor and Choreographer Addie Diaz. Even though the company had performed in Switzerland earlier this year, this was to be one of several shakedown performances to tighten up choreography and get new team members use to performing with one another. Addie, who was the choreographer to this year's Side Street Kids performance at the Congreso Barcardi de la Salsa in Puerto Rico gradually plans to provide both traditional and non-traditional numbers with her unique flair for dancing.

The Addie-tude Dance Company's performance is just one example of a recent trend used by Salsa/Mambo promoters to attract the NY dance crowd to their events. Recently Bistro Latino showcased the marvelous Eddie Torres Dance Company to a packed audience, Jimmy_Anton has been known to showcase dance performances at his highly popular bi-monthly social Latin Sunday Social DanceBernard Martinez followed up with a performance of The Descarga Latina Dance Company (another top NY team), Delille Thomas always provides a performance during one of his periodic Seasonal Social Dances, Evelyn Ramos successfully promoted an event at Wild Palm with several dance teams including her own. She also plans to promote "Mambo Nights" every Friday at Starlite Caterers (formerly Side Street) and plans to regularly feature dance performances there.

These events are highly recommended by all three NY Web Sites (Salsaweb NY, SalsaNewYork.com & JustSalsa.com). You'll usually find several top NY Salseros attending these events. Many of them come out to mingle and support their fellow dancers. Thanks to my internet partner, Mr. Fernando Lamadrid of JustSalsa.com, several of these moments from The Addie-tude DanceTeam performance were captured on film. Fernando was kind enough to allow me to take some photos from his page and re-publish them on Salsaweb. I never had done a Cha-Cha routine till Addie taught me this one. I could see why she has so much fun doing them.
